Christine J. Wilson will speak at the 2011 PIHRA Legal Update on three dates in January 2011 on “Winning Strategies for Unemployment Hearings”.
Arthur Khachatourians and Carey Caruso will be presenting on September 15, 2011 at the Beverly Hills Bar Association. The seminar is titled "Representing Clients Arrested for Domestic Violence - "Hello 911, My Husband Just Hit Me and Took Off with Our Child."This Program will provide a thorough overview in representing clients accused of Felony and Misdemeanor Domestic Violence (assault, battery, intimidation of a victim or witness, false imprisonment, spousal battery, child endangerment, destruction of telephonic communication, and criminal threats.) The seminar will include possible defenses, informal hearings held by the City Attorney's DV Unit; Emergency Protective Orders, Restraining Orders, CLETS, modification orders, collateral effects resulting from a DV conviction, pre-filing efforts to rejection or mitigate criminal charges, and preparing a defense for trial.
Christine Wilson will co-present a program entitled “Can we just not talk about it? Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Religious Practices in the Workplace” at the PIRHA 2011 Diversity & Cross-Cultural Leadership Summit at Cal State University Long Beach on March 9, 2011.
Elizabeth Plott Tyler spoke at the QCHF Institute and CAHF Summer Conference in July 2010 on “Working in a Dual Enforcement Environment” and will be a panel member for a presentation entitled, “Best Practices for Handling AG/DOJ Abuse and Neglect Investigations.”

MATTER RESOLUTIONS
September 2010: Tyler & Wilson attorneys successfully intervened to prevent the imminent termination of a nursing home's Medicare agreement through aggressive investigation immediately followed by the development and presentation of a comprehensive evidence-based defense.
Elizabeth Plott Tyler participated in the settlement of a Class “A” Citation case in the Los Angeles Superior Court that resulted in the reduction of one Class “A” Citation to a “B” Citation, the reduction of two “B” Citations to deficiencies with no penalty and the reduction of the penalty on another Class “A” Citation.
Plaintiffs dismissed an elder abuse and neglect case handled by Christine J. Wilson and Terry Schneier of Tyler & Wilson and Bryan R. Reid of Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith, in exchange for a waiver of costs and malicious prosecution.
Christine J. Wilson and Bryan Reid of Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith won a judgment against a plaintiff in an elder abuse and neglect case in an amount in excess of $100,000, and that judgment was upheld at both the Court of Appeals and the California Supreme Court.
